Vodafone’s offer of six months half-price line rental was so unbelievably good, you really had to see it to believe it.

Building on this sense of the incredible, I wrote a sketch involving two mates: one borderline hysteric with outlandish tales to tell, and one weary listener who’s heard it all before.

The ad was so popular, the client asked me to write more. We ended up with five. When the last one aired, Xfm’s Lauren Laverne asked listeners to phone in and vote for their favourite.
