MERCEDES: REINVENTION

The Grand Sports Tourer was being launched as one of the first ‘hybrids’: part sports car, part 4X4, with the roominess of an estate and the luxury of a saloon. It was, to be fair, a baffling concept for the time.

Our task was to make sense of it, which we did drawing inspiration from a number of product-defining reinventions – from the ballpoint pen to the energy-saving light bulb. Each example is a shining beacon of outstanding design and performance, which tees-up nicely our big reveal: The Grand Sports Tourer, car engineering reinvented.
